Should I use an AI-generated resume?

What's the deal with AI-generated resumes?

Should you use AI to build your resume or not?

According to a 2024 Resume Genius survey, AI-generated resumes top the list as the number one red flag when it comes to screening candidates.

  • 53% of hiring managers have reservations about resumes that include content clearly created by AI

  • 20% see it as a critical issue that could prevent them from hiring a candidate

Again and again, we've seen that resume personalization is key. It will probably take you more time to generate an AI resume and then try to outsmart an employer by making it look like it wasn't AI generated!

Do yourself a favor and build your resume on your own. AI can help you brainstorm skills to feature, keywords to incorporate meaningfully, or how to phrase something, but the writing needs to be done by a human.

The second biggest red flag identified in the survey was frequent job hopping, BUT they found 65% of managers would hire based on skills alone, even if a candidate's qualifications don't match expectations. So I'd call that a win!
