Seeking an escape
Before our move to Vilnius, a family member asked me how I felt about leaving the U.S. after five years. It suddenly came to me. The reason I enjoy moving - despite the incredible hassle and emotions that come with it - is that it's like a gift. Each new place is a box with surprises inside.
I don't know who I will meet, where I will shop, or the new places I will travel. And quite honestly, the pandemic created a need in me to shake up the routine.
Believe me: i know this lifestyle is not a normal or common way to escape and re-energize yourself, but what this revelation made me realize is that this box of surprises applies to ANYTHING new.
Walking down a new street can energize you.
Going on a hike in nature can energize you.
Exploring a new town can energize you.
Speaking with someone new can energize you.
Learning something new can energize you.
Volunteering can energize you.
What's one thing you do that allows you to escape and makes you feel rejuvenated?
