Latest Remote Work Trends
We've been looking at the latest trends in remote and hybrid work around the world. According to WFH Research, employers are offering fewer remote jobs than employees want. I'm guessing that doesn't come as a surprise to many of you, but it's interesting to note that their study confirmed this!
In the United States:
12% of full-time employees are fully remote;
28% work in a hybrid arrangement; and
60% are full-time on site.
Among U.S. knowledge workers, it's predicted that 51% of knowledge workers will work in a hybrid arrangement by the end of 2023 and 20% will work fully remote. Among global knowledge workers, 39% will work in a hybrid arrangement by the end of 2023 and only 9% will work fully remote.
This suggests that hybrid and fully remote work arrangements are growing in the United States, but more slowly worldwide.
According to FlexJobs, remote work is most prevalent in the following states, listed from the highest to lowest ratio:
Rhode Island
Delaware
Vermont
North Dakota
South Dakota
Maine
West Virginia
New Hampshire
Nebraska
Connecticut
Cities with the highest numbers of remote work days per week are San Francisco, Boston, New York, and Phoenix.
