International Women’s Day WFH Tips
To honor international women’s day, we’ve pulled together some tips & humor from women who’ve been working from home in the past year.
"If you're toying with Studio Effects in Zoom for fun, remember to remove them before your next business call. It's awkward to sign in with hot pink eyebrows, a goatee, and a polka-dot bandana, and expect to be taken seriously."
“In this world of zooming, homeschooling, and a world where our personal and professional lives bleed together, we have to double-down on what feeds our spirit. We need to say no more, draw more boundaries, and feed our need needs. It’s not in our nature as caregivers and nurturers but we’ve got to do it or who else will?”
“Sometimes all you have to show up with to a virtual work meeting is a good attitude and a done-up face...even while everything is freezing over and you have no running water.”
“If you enjoy hypocrisy, start working from home. It involves spending 12 hours a day tied to a Zoom call on your iPad while you yell at your children about too much screen time.”
“To be successful working from home resilience, a sense of humor, and a well-planned but often poorly completed schedule. Start the day with a set of goals and clearly mapped out plan. Understand that your children’s interruptions will allow you to do 75% of what you hope, but given that you’ve gone from employee to now also chef, teacher, activities director, playmate and overall only point of contact for your children it is more than a notable accomplishment. Keep going!”
